Toronto Wins the Bid to Host the 2020 World Masters Championships

Toronto produced a bid for the World Masters Athletics Championships in 2020
at the WMA General Assembly in Perth Australia on October 30th.
The other bid was from Gothenburg Sweden

Each bidder had a booth at the Athlete’s Village at the track, for the week before the Assembly, and were provided a 20 minute time slot for their presentations.
The Presentation team of eight included six UTTC Masters members

Toronto won the vote 68 to 57

Besides the six UTTC Masters on the Bid Presentation Team,
the TO2020 Local Organizing Committee
includes four UTTC Masters – Damien Dupuy, Ian Reid, Simon Rayner, and Mike Sherar

Opening and Closing Ceremonies
Registration and Athlete’s Village
One of the main Track and Jumps venues
