The UTTC M40 Relay team set a Canadian Record in the 4X800m Relay in 8:50.03

UTTC was well represented at the 6th Canadian Masters Athletics Indoor Championships
on March 14-15 at the Toronto Track & Field Centre
W50 Annie Bunting won the 800m in 2:25.13 – missing the Canadian Record of 2:25.02 by a hair!
She also broke the Meet Record with a 64.38 in the 400m.
Breaking 65 seconds qualifies Annie for the IAAF World Championships
Masters Women’s 400m race in Beijing this summer.
Coach Chris Lemassif (#142) won the M45 50m and broke the Meet Record in 6.50
Jay Foubert was a close second in 6.51
M75 Keijo Taivassalo broke the Meet Records with a 6:19 in the 1500m and a 13:24 in the 3000m
He was also on a Relay team with Vern Christensen that broke the MR in the M70 4X400m
M60 John Helliker was the Canadian Champion in the 1500m, breaking the MR in 4:59.13
W60 Clara Northcott broke the MR with a 6:21 1500m and a 13:27 in the 3000m
M60 Peter Zowkewych broke the MR in the Pentathlon
with a total of 2610 points – but came 2nd, missing the Gold by 9 points!
M70 Tony Powell broke the MR in the 50m in 7.56

Coach Paul welcomed Tony as our Honourary Member of UTTC
Coach Paul broke the MR in the M50 800m in 2:05.69
His time was the 2nd fastest 800 of the meet – except for UTTC’s M40 Michal Kapral’s 2:04.47
Honourable Mention in the Records listing goes to Amy Ballon who’s 2:35.83
just missed the 12 year old W40 Meet Record of 2:35.23
Shaggy was the Meet Director for the 4th year in a row
