Sasha won the Stumptown Twilight 5000 in Portland OR on June 16 in 15:24.12 – 2.12 seconds over the qualifying standard for London World’s. The CAN record is 17.01.3. Ranks her #4 in the 5000 in Canada.
W45 Debbie ran a very good 100m in 14.22 (84.4%) into a head wind at the UTTC Allcomers. It was a new Club Record
Simon ran 17:51.5 in the Bum Run 5K – the only Club Age Graded mark over 80% this month
Lynn won the Silver medal in the 3000m at the World Masters Indoor Championships in Daegu Korea
Sasha ran the Mile at the Athletics Canada Championships in Montreal in 4:40.19 – breaking the W35 CAN Record by 27 seconds. The record has stood for 33 years!

Peter won the Gold and broke the CAN in the Indoor Heptathlon at the USATF Championships with 4235 points and set an ONT Record in the High Jump of 1.45m
W55 4X400m Relay Team

Coach Walter Faion
Walter raced 4 out of 5 weekends during the month – Around the Bay 30K, Spring Run Off 8K, Oakville 10K, and the Toronto Marathon
John ‘Run Like’ Helliker
John won the Gold in the 1500m with a AG 86.54% (Masters Points 180.3) and a Silver medal at the Nationals in the 800m with a AG 83.76% (Masters Points 173.2)
Stuart broke TWO Indoor CAN records – the 1500m in 4:26.22, and the 5000m in 16:26 shortly after turning M55
Peter broke the M65 CAN Record with 4080 points in the Indoor Heptathlon at the USATF Championships. He broke the ONT High Jump and Long Jump records at the event. He also broke the ONT records in the Triple Jump and Shot Put at OMA Mini Meet #1
Rita was first W55 at the Sunnybrook 8K, first W55 at the Provincial XC and second at the National XC CHampionships
Anthony was our highest AG scorer at the Sunnybrook 8K and has been consistently in the top two all season
Stuart was the highest AG% score at Taylor Creek at 89.35% – one of the highest scores ever at a Masters Cross Country race!
Annie won the Silver in the W50 800m at the World Championships in Lyon in 2:28.35 She also won the Bronze in the 1500m in 5:01.73
Kate broke the W45 CAN record with a 1:14.18 in the 400m Hurdles at the Canadian Masters Championships in St Catharines
Peter won the Gold medal at the South-Eastern USATF
Masters Championships in the Pentathlon,
breaking M60 club records for points and in the 200m
Jay ran a 11.67 PB in the 100m at the UTTC Tuesday Twilight May 26th – now 6th in the World Rankings
Keijo was the first M75 at the Boston Marathon in 3:35
a few days later, he ran 22:56 in the Bum Run 5K
Coach Chris (lane 5) went to the European Masters Championships in Torun Poland – setting M45 Club Records in the 60m and 200m
Nancy ran the 60m, 200m, and 400m in Mini Meet #2

Joan ran 3:07:31 at the New York Marathon in cold, very windy conditions – a huge PB

Michal broke the World Joggling Record in the Half Marathon in 1:20:40 at the Toronto Waterfront event
W50 Annie Bunting
Annie was 2nd W50 in the Fifth Avenue Mile
in New York with a stunning 5:22 – 92.92% Age Grade
M60 Peter Zowkewych
Peter competed at the NCCWMA Championships in
Costa Rica – Gold in the High Jump (ONT record), Silver – Pentathlon, Silver -Javelin (PB), Bronze -Shot, Discus (PB)
M50 Mike Sherar
Mike ran the anchor leg of the 4X800 Relay team
that broke the World Record at the CMA Champs.
He also won 2 Golds and a Silver at the USATF meet
M40 Nigel John
Nigel jumped 6.59m in the Long Jump
at the OMA Championships. This jump would have placed him 2nd in both Porto Alegre and Budapest.
W35 Marie-Josée Le Jour
MJ broke the World Record in the W35 Throws Pentathlon with an incredible 4,047 pts
W30 Joan Chung
Joan exemplifies the perseverance that all our Club members made in training for the Boston Marathon.

Coach Paul Osland
Paul won the Silver in the M50 800m at the World Championships – breaking the CAN record. He also broke the CAN in the 1500m, and broke four CAN records at the CMA Championships
Khama broke the CAN record in the 60m in 8.02 and the ONT record in the 200 in 26.92

Marie-Josee had a 4th place finish in the Discus at the World Jeux De La Francophonie in Nice, France.
She threw a season’s best 51.73
W35 Khama Beckles
Khama had two 4th place finishes in the 100m (12.65) and 200m (26.45) at the World Masters Games in Torino Italy.
Both were run into a headwind and both are Club Records

John won both the M60 800m and the 1500m at the Ontario Championships – making him #1 Ranked in the country. His times would have medalled at the

W40 Amy Ballon
Amy ran her first track race at the UTTC Twilight Meet – finishing the 3000m in 11:45 – which was faster than her 1000 interval pace at the workouts!
M40 Ming Tsai
Ming was first overall in the Waterloo Half Marathon on April 28th in a time of 1:18:24
W35 Khama Beckles
Khama broke the Canadian W35 50m record, the 60m record twice, and the Ontario 200m record

won the very tough M60 division at the Ontario Cross Country Championships in Kingston
M40 Michal Kapral
won the Trapline Marathon in Newfoundland on October 13th in a course record 2:59:32 ….while Joggling!
M35 Jay Brecher
won the OMA Taylor Creek 5K Cross Country race overall…..just nicking M50 Chris Deighan in a sprint to the finish line.
Jay Broke Phil Oreopolos’ Course Record
Jay was the Canadian M40 100m Champion, and 200m Silver Medalist in Saint John. He is the #1 ranked M40 100m Sprinter in Canada –
with the four fastest times all year
Chris was the Ontario M45 Champion in the 100m, 200m, and 400m at the OMA Championships on July 29th.
Chris ran some of his fastest times since 2009!
Mel White M50 ran the 100m 13.34 (83.37%) and the 200m 27.21 (83.52%) at the 1st Tuesday Twilight Meet.
Mel had a huge half-a-second PB in the 100 and
over-a-full-second PB in the 200
Lynn won the W55 division at the Toronto 10K in 43:26 and scored a 86.81% Age Grade (her highest ever)
with a 21:04 finish in a 5K
John won the Canadian Championship M60 1500m against stiff competition and broke the Meet Record in the event
Andre Mitchell Annie Bunting
Andre won the Ontario Championships M35 200m in a 24.43 PB. He also set a 7.51 PB in the 60m at the meet.
Annie broke the CAN Indoor 5000m record, the ONT Indoor 1500m record, and won the 800m at the Ontario Championships
Lynda de Boer
Lynda was the W50 Ontario Cross Country Champion with the 15th highest AG% score (83.3%). She also won the W50 diamond at the Run For The Diamonds in Berwick PA
Nicky set a massive PB in the Waterfront Half Marathon and ran the very challenging Sunnybrook 8K Cross Country – her first XC race
Annie won the W40-49 division of the Fifth Avenue Mile in New York on September 24th
Kevin ran three road races – Carrotfast in Bradford, the OMA Championships finishing first M40 in 17:20, Slainte Summer Classic 5K 3rd Overall and 1st M40, Ingersoll Harvest Run 5K in 18:15 – 2nd Overall and 1st M40
Mike won the Gold Medal in the 800m and Silver in the 400m at the World Masters Championships in Sacramento. He was also part of the Bronze medal winning
